5 out of 5 stars Awesome!   January 6, 2009
Tina D. Finkelstein (Entrigen, Germany)
Really awesome stroller. I have a four year old and a one year old. I needed something the the older one could occasionally ride on, that wouldn't be too huge for a single stroller. This is perfect. They both love it! It is super comfortable, way more than my Graco single stroller, and my four year old loves to be able to sit or stand. Also great if you live somewhere where it rains/snows a lot, they can both get under the rain cover. Buy the rain cover accessory that is available, it will cover them both without making them feel like they have plastic in their face. The only downside maybe, but not to me, is the weight, but I think if you want to spend more money they do make a lighter version. Folds down smaller than my Graco Single. When we travel and need extra room we take the tray and the canopy off and stow it separate. Can't give this enough props, love it!

4 out of 5 stars Quality tandem stroller   December 23, 2008

We bought this stroller for our 2 year old and newborn. Right now we use the car seat for our infant and our 2 year old sits in the back. I was surprised that my toddler enjoys sitting in the back facing us. I was worried he might want to face forward to see all the action. The stroller steers/handles well and is well made. There are a few reasons I gave it 4 stars - 1) the toddler seat in the back can slide back so that the toddler's back is running into the car seat; 2) the canopy is low for use with the car seat - if it's intended to provide coverage over the baby, it doesn't quite accomplish that; and 3) the stroller is heavy and awkward to get into the car - I know, I know... I didn't purchase the Ultralight but feel it's still worth mentioning. Overall this is a nice stroller and solid and at $147 (what I paid in Nov 08) I'd definitely buy it again.

4 out of 5 stars Great mobility with this stroller!   December 16, 2008

I had a Graco Duoglider, and found that it was difficult to manuever when shopping. I saw someone with the Joovy Caboose at the mall, and thought it was worth a try. It is wonderful! My 2.5 year old loves being able to stand or sit. It is much easier to fold and to take in & out of the car than the Duoglider was. It is also much easier to steer in general (my husband said he felt like he was driving a BMW), but especially in tight spaces, like clothing stores and fitting rooms. There are 2 cons to the Caboose:#1 is that it has much less storage space than the Duoglider, so a traditional diaper bag doesn't fit well, and doesn't leave room for much else. #2 is that your toddler/preschooler can put his/her feet on the wheels or even on the ground when sitting on the bench, so you do have to instruct them about keeping their feet on the platform. Overall, I am really happy with this purchase!

4 out of 5 stars Joovy Sit and stand   December 7, 2008

I bought this stroller because it's smaller in length than the other Sit and Stand strollers out there.(It's very compact) I also have a two and a half year old and a 9 month old. Which makes this stroller ideal. I love most everything about it the only exception it that it is very heavy. Try the newer "light weight" sit and stand by Joovy. It might be lighter.

2 out of 5 stars Its purpose is marred by failed toddler seat design   November 11, 2008

Hello -

It looks like more than 150 people have reviewed this stoller already, so I'll keep this brief. Hopefully the engineers at Joovy are reading our feedback here...

I am disappointed in this stroller and am confused why it received such consistently high ranks on Amazon. The truth, I think, is in the reviews that get 3 stars or fewer.

My biggest complaint is that the sitting/standing toddler area is poorly designed. That is, when a car seat is in the front, the rear-facing toddler chair-back has to be pushed down to a roughly 70-degree angle. Our guy can't sit in there. It looks ludicrous.

Worse, when he is sitting in there, two bright red levers are in plain view that invite near-constant pushing. What are they? THE BRAKES! How many times do we walk down a busy sidewalk starting and stopping because those red levers are just too much fun?

I have minor complaints, too, about the "universal" mounting system for the infant car-seat, but I'm sure other people have delved into that already.

Sigh. We spent a lot of $ on this stroller. I have to give it just 2 stars because it fails at its key purpose, which is enabling an infant and a toddler to share a stroller.
